I Love Quilting

I love to quilt and I have been making my mom a quilt to commemorate her mission to New Zealand. I read a book about a new technique and decided to try it. This quilt block is my first attempt at "picture piecing" a quilt block. I still have lots to do on the quilt but I'm happy to be finished with this block. It took me about 8 months to learn how and then make this block.

Heidi's Birthday

Happy Birthday Heidi. Birthdays are one of those fun things that parents get to do for their children. Now that Heidi is older and made her own plans I like to remember the days when dad and I would plan and prepare a birthday celebration for each child. It was a fun thing to do. As I go down memory lane I remember friend parties and sleep overs, family parties, cakes, gifts. . . fun times. We hope your day was wonderful Heidi. Happy Birthday!

Happy Easter!

I was thinking about Easter today. I miss the days when everyone got new Easter clothes and we all wore Easter bonnets and new, special clothes to church. The little girls would wear bonnets, white gloves, and new little white shoes. I know - clothes aren't the important part - our Savior and His resurrection is the reason for the season but it was fun to make a special day special with new "Sunday Best" .

Nathan Dances!

Today was a fun day because Nathan has been learning ballroom dance at school and today was the day to invite parents and watch them dance. This is, of course, a photo of Nathan dancing with Jenni at Jenni and Adam's reception, but today as I watched Nathan dance I was reminded of the fun we had in San Diego.

A beginning!

Well, I've been thinking about doing this for months and now that I finally did it I find myself speechless! Yes, me with nothing to say. I guess I'll have to learn as I go but this first post is just to experiment. I can already see that this is addictive. Kerry is snoring beside me, I have to work tomorrow and I really should be sound asleep so I guess I'll call this good for tonight and continue another day. Gosh, should I wish for something exciting to happen so that I can blog about it! (lol) Goodnight.
